About Matt

I’m Matt — a personal trainer and coach helping men and women in their 40s, 50s, and beyond build strength, energy, and confidence in a way that fits real life.

My coaching is practical, supportive, and focused on long-term health — not quick fixes or extremes.

14+ years coaching in the fitness industry has shaped the way I work today.

My Story

Coaching built on experience, perspective, and real life.

I’ve been coaching for over 14 years, but my approach today looks very different from when I first started.

My journey began in 2012 as a Personal Trainer at Virgin Active Moorgate. Over the years, I went on to build and scale three gyms across central London, lead a team of over 30 fitness professionals, and help hundreds of people improve their strength, health, and confidence.

On paper, I specialised in strength training, conditioning, and weight loss.
In reality, I was learning something far more important — that lasting change doesn’t come from workouts alone.

Life experience shapes how I coach.

In 2023, I stepped away from running gyms to focus on fatherhood. That period gave me first-hand insight into how demanding life can become — mentally, physically, and emotionally — especially as responsibilities grow.

It reinforced something I had seen repeatedly with clients over the years:
health struggles are rarely about lack of motivation. They’re about lack of structure, clarity, and support.

That experience led me to broaden my coaching beyond training alone. I trained as a life coach, created a dedicated space for fathers through The DadTable, and refined an approach that looks after the whole person — not just their fitness.

How I work with clients today.

Today, my coaching brings together structured training, practical nutrition guidance, and sustainable lifestyle habits, with optional life coaching for those who want deeper clarity and direction.

I work primarily with men and women in their 40s, 50s, and beyond — people who want to feel stronger, have more energy, and feel confident in their bodies again, without extreme methods or unrealistic expectations.

Some clients want focused personal training.
Others want a more complete health and wellbeing approach.

Either way, the foundation is always the same:

  • A plan that fits real life

  • Clear structure and accountability

  • Support that evolves as life changes

What matters to me as a coach.

I don’t believe in quick fixes, pressure, or “all or nothing” thinking.

My role is to help you:

  • Build strength safely and confidently

  • Improve energy, health, and consistency

  • Develop habits that actually stick

  • Feel supported, not judged

  • Create progress that lasts

Coaching, to me, is about helping people move forward with clarity — physically, mentally, and in how they show up day to day.

If you’re considering working together.

If you’re looking for someone to push you for a few weeks, I may not be the right fit.

But if you’re ready for a thoughtful, structured approach to your health — one that respects where you are now and supports where you want to be — I’d be glad to help.
